Traditional Turkish Hammam Treatment (45 minutes for AED495)
*You have to be comfortable with nudity in order to actually enjoy the hammam
The Room – At the heart of this spa, lies an enormous room built from marble and exquisitely decorated with dark woods, mosaics and murals. It was only created for the sole purpose of having couples or singles that opt for the ‘Turkish Hammam’ (also known as a Turkish bath)!
The ‘cleansing ceremony’ kicks off with you first lying on a stone bed followed by exfoliating your skin with a kese mitt (consisting of a rough exterior). The mitt removes all the dead skin cells and toxins from your body (I could see the deposits peeling off from my skin)!! Upon completion, you will be smeared in thick foam that covers your entire body. The soap acts like an oil/slippery base that assists in massaging your body. This ultimately moisturises your skin. Finally, you will be taken to a corner where you will have a traditional full-body bath with a hand-made olive oil soap.
Talise suggests you continue with a massage of your choice or an application of their unique satin oil with essences of amber and frankincense.
